SBYC - Sailing School
Our Mission:
To promote the sport of sailing through beginner, intermediate and advanced instruction in a fun and safe summer camp environment.
The Shediac Bay Yacht Club Sailing School is located on the grounds of the Club. There are usually 30 to 50 students each week. We have
ten 420, seven opti, and one laser with which we teach the students on the water.
Sailing School begins at 9:30am and finishes at 4:30 pm Monday - Friday.
The students in Bronze Sail IV and V usually bring their own boat and we strongly encourage students in Silver Sail VI to bring their own boat.
Overview:
The School is a day camp program for young people between the ages of 8 and 18 who want to learn to sail or
improve their existing sailing and racing skills. We offer on-water dingy instruction as well as on land theory classes for sailors of
all levels. Our students follow the CYA (Canadian Yachting Association) "Learn To Sail Program" and with experience, practice and
knowledge can advance through the 6 levels offered in our program.
